102004 - Eating From The Garden
Ages: 8-12 MU Extension
Students will learn how the food we eat relates to plants through this hands-on gardening program. Each lesson will focus on a new topic such as soil composition, the six plant parts, seed structure, and nutrients for plants and people. Each student will have the opportunity to plant seeds in their own take-home container, as well as taste a variety of fruits, vegetables, and seeds.

102011 - From Real Life To The Canvas
Ages: 8-16 years Mu Extension GK Calahan
During this week-long art camp participants will create multiple works of art. We will begin by photographing the “real world” around us and then we will learn how to take the photos and transfer them onto a canvas like the old masters did. Each day we will spend time drawing in a sketchbook, introducing some art history, looking at a different artist or style of art, while working on paintings. We will spend a majority of the time together, learning techniques around drawing and painting. Every day we will have a nutrition specialist from the University of Missouri who will teach us about healthy eating and provide an afternoon snack. Please bring a sack lunch. This program is funded through a grant for 2019.
