    North Kansas City Parks & Recreation youth sports programs are non-competitive leagues. The programs emphasize skill development, learning the rules of the game, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly FUN! Practice will be once during the week and games on the weekend.     T-ball is the first step in the baseball/softball progression. Emphasis is placed on having fun and playing together as a team. Our goal is for the child to learn the correct skills for batting, throwing and catching, as well as developing an understanding of the basics of the game.

    Bitty Athletes is a four-week introductory seswsion that will cover the most popular sports (Foothball, Soccer, Baseball, Hockey, and more). Players will learn the basics and fundamentals of each sport. We will work on overall hand eye coordination, balance, athleticism, and having fun!

    105011 - Pitch, Hit, and Run

    Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run is a FREE event that tests three of the most fundamental aspects of baseball and softball - Pitching, Hitting, and Running:
    Pitch: Participant is tested throwing strikes to a designated Strike Zone target.
    Hit: Participant hits a ball off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy.
    Run: Participant is timed, starting from second base, touching third then touching home plate.
    All of the events are individually scored and converted to a total point score through the use of conversion tables.
    Participants will compete in each of the three components of Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit, and Run and accumulate total score based on his/her performance. Winners will move on to Regionals and continued success can lead to a chance ot compete in Nationals.
